CFUW Orillia started up its 2022/23 season welcoming our speaker Graeme Davis, a Registered Professional Forester from Simcoe County Forests. Graeme is responsible for ensuring the Simcoe County Forest remains one of the most respected municipal forestry programs in Ontario enabling long term growth and sustainability while maximizing environmental, social and economic benefits. His presentation included some local history, a description of current management practices and priorities, and thoughts of what the future might hold.

It was our first in-person meeting since April 2020 and it was great to see so many members in attendance. Many of our members wore orange in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation that was the following Friday.
